Wanting to have an eternal and happy life with God, doing good deeds is like trying to open your email with the wrong password, it does not work. The only way to open your email is to enter the correct password.
The correct password to a happy and eternal life is believing in Jesus, He said it is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Jesus is the way to reach God, love him, tell him to forgive your sins and give you his salvation.
